This iPod Pro 12.9 ”2021 takes photographic elements of the iPod Pro 2020. So we see the lidar sensor for the depth of field and the developed reality. In this 2021 model, the main volume is still 12 megapixels and the ultra wide angle is 10 MPX.
Volume Primary
The tablet offers an overall more satisfactory result than in the past. An observation we already made during the testing of the iPod Air 4 at the end of 2020. Here, the iPod Pro 12.9 ”(2021) offers more detailed, different views and, above all, daylight.
At night, the whole thing is confusing, but the exposure is again higher than what was seen on the iPod Pro 12.9 ”(2020).
Compared to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 +, the 12.9 ”iPod Pro performed much better, providing a more detailed and different image. Samsung’s software processing is very strong, generously smoothing the entire display.
At night, the South Korean tablet catches a hair, especially thanks to the excellent expression. However, for an iPad Pro like the S7 +, keep in mind that the images are very loud and not very compatible.
Ultra wide-angle module
Apple seems to have put a lot of effort into the ultra-wide-angle module for the 12.9 ”iPod Pro (2021). The exposure is very well controlled and the image becomes very detailed. After all, the digital noise that covered the entire shot will disappear.
Photos captured with the iPod Pro 12.9 ”(2020) have the same observation at night and are unusable due to the combination of pixels that make it up. This is not the case today as the scene is clearly visible. However, the exposure is a bit low.
Facing the 5MP ultra wide-angle of the Galaxy Tab S7 +, the iPod Pro emerges as the winner. By providing more detail and better exposure, one can boast of having the best ultra-wide angle on a tablet.
The same care at night and during the day. The Galaxy Tab S7 + suffers from some color variations, which we don’t see in Apple’s model.
Front module, portrait and video mode
On the front, the iPod Pro has a 12-megapixel volume. Improved over last year’s version which includes 7MPX module. The sensor has an angle of 122 and is fitted with an optical stabilizer. This is essential for a new feature called center frame, where the camera is always looking for your face as you move, so you will always be in the center of the image. This new feature is compatible not only with FaceTime, but also with other video conferencing applications such as Zoom.
Taking a selfie – albeit very difficult with a device that weighs almost 700 grams – is a nice surprise because of the quality. Portrait mode also comes with the results we already know with the iPhone.
