“In the right weather, I had the right to the vertical route to Paris … I could not miss it!” The astronaut who arrived at the International Space Station on Saturday tweeted.
The city of Paris responded with an emoji on Twitter, openly applauding the clich of capital viewed from space.
Thomas Baskett and his crew settled on a six-month trip. The Alpha Mission is the third such mission to SpaceX since the United States relaunched manned spacecraft. With 11 residents, the International Space Station is currently unusually populated.
The station team plans to take 1.5 million images of the Earth documenting events such as artificial lights, moss flowers and the eruption of Antarctic ice shelves at night.
