Podstom – SC Botstam’s volleyball players will have to wait for the first title in the club’s history. Guillermo Hernandez’s team lost in all three sets in the cup final against SSC Swerin on Sunday afternoon in Mannheim. The McLenberg women needed just 82 minutes to clear 3-0 (25:18, 25:13, 25:18), their already seventh cup win.

Podstam’s high scorer Laura Emmonds recognized Schwarin’s victory without jealousy. “We didn’t get into the rhythm and Swerin actually missed security in the block field,” he said. In the first two sets, SSC quickly rushed to four or five points for powerful service and consistent attacking play. “It helped us get to a good emotional level quickly,” Swerins Anna Bogani said.

Although their team often dominated the game, SC Botsdam found ways to operate on an equal footing. The first set of ten sets of balls in the square had already been lost and when it appeared that nothing more was available, several points suddenly came in a row. This is not enough to change the course: Swerin won the first and confident second set. The podcast game was affected by the change of staff on the switchgear. Ana Timi Takagui, who did not play a single game after her contract expired earlier this year and played her last game in the Cup final before returning to Brazil, has not seen any binding.

In the first set, SC coach Hernandez Lindsay exchanged Fory for Takai in midfield, but this did not lead to victory. Although his team defended themselves again in the third set against the impending defeat, they were able to equalize at the same time during the entire match at 13:13. Swerin played very deliberately, so there is no doubt about the seventh Cup win. In the end, Potsdam’s Laura Emmonds had to comfort herself with the fact that “even coming to the Cup final is a big win for us.”

In the men’s division, a team from Brandenburg has nothing to win. United Wallis won the final against Frankfurt Netjopers 3-0 with Konix Westerhausen (25:23, 25:21, 25:22).
