Through Ithaca Games, Domonobu wants to attack Ithaca again, the creator behind the “Dead or Alive” and modern “Ninja Keaton” games. However, he has not yet given any details about the first project in his new studio.

Japanese game designer Domonobu Idakaki was able to make a name for himself with brands such as “Dead or Alive” and “Ninja Keitan”. Now he has announced that he has set up his own studio called Idakaki Games.

Return to the mood for game development

On his Official Facebook page He released a detailed interview with Bloomberg ahead of the Xbox 20th anniversary. However, Bloomberg did not publish this section due to its length and granted permission to the developer.

In the interview, Itakaki revealed that he has been teaching in support of young people for the past four years. But now he has a desire to create a new game, which is why he set up a new studio. He left Techmo in 2008 before joining the company with Koi, and was one of the founders of Valhalla Game Studio in 2010. Since then, Ithaca has only released the action-packed title “Devil’s Third”, which has received a lot of negative reviews from critics and gamers alike. In 2017, Idakaki also left Valhalla Game Studio.

After all these years, Ithaca has a keen interest in Microsoft and Xbox, which is why he would not hesitate to take over the Redmond-based studio. So he said in the interview:

“Haha, I’ll start again with the questions I made [Xbox Designer] Seamus [Blackley] Presented two decades ago. At that point I asked him: Do you believe you will beat PS2? He said ‘yes’. The Xbox is called ‘Project Midway’ and I will use it to achieve dominance. So I trusted him and actually created Xbox exclusive games for ten years. It’s been 20 years since then, and I started my own company, Itakaki Games, which is neither Tekmo nor Valhalla. I know Microsoft continues to be aggressive. If you contact me, it is an honor for me. “

Accordingly, it remains to be seen whether Microsoft will one day be interested in Itakaki games and what the newly established studio will create.
