With the Thinkbook Plus, Lenovo has been selling a special notebook since last year: in addition to the mandatory color screen, there is a monochrome e-ink touch screen on the outside of the lid, which allows you to display information when the lid is closed or take notes on documents with a pen. Lenovo is now presenting the second generation at CES.
In addition, the internal components are not only upgraded to the eleventh core generation and related connectivity (WiFi 6, Thunderbolt 4): the e-ink display has been expanded to 12 inches, now providing significantly more images and more on the work surface. In addition, the pen can now be placed in the home. The main screen has also been improved: the 13.3-inch display now has a working aspect ratio of 16:10. Both panels show 2560 × 1600 points.
Lenovo guarantees 15 hours (main screen) and 24 hours (e-ink usage) for a flat notebook less than 1.3 kilograms of light and less than one and a half centimeters. The battery can be recharged using USB-C power or a custom wireless charging mat.
The Thinkbook Plus iGen 2 will be available from the end of May for 1550 euros. There will also be a slightly flattering and lighter sister model called the Thinkbook 13XI from the end of June, which is technically similar to the Thinkbook Plus without a second e-ink screen. Prices start at 1310 euros.
AMD-ThinkBooks
Although all previous Thinkbooks were equipped with Intel processors, the AMD variants of the Thinkbook 14B and 16B were introduced at CES. Small Capture: Two-kilogram Thinkbook 16B, powerful Raison 5000 processors, preferred GeForce RTX GPUs and a 16-inch 16:10 screen measured for SRGP color space in Germany by the end of June The 14-inch ThinkPad 14p with the current OLED screen, available for 1310 euros, is not currently available in Germany.
