Accident at the giant slalom in Adelbotton: Tommy Ford falls badly – Game

There was a sharp fall in the second Great Slalom in Adelaide, Switzerland. American Tommy Ford lost control of his skis on Saturday, rolled over, hit his head on the ground – and fainted – and slipped into a safety net a few meters from the finish line.

He clashed with two Beast workers. He was immobile and was treated for a long time at the scene of the accident.

Aides then took Ford on a rescue ride and loaded him into a helicopter. The American Sky Association later tweeted that Ford was able to speak with rescue workers during the operation. He was taken to a clinic and was conscious, it said.

No further details were released on the 31-year-old’s injuries. The race was interrupted for half an hour.

On Friday, young Norwegian Lucas Brathan fell while crossing the finish line and injured his knee ligaments. He needs surgery and has been out for several months. (dpa)
