The Durham Constabulary has issued a warning about the fraud perpetrated by Conmen, claiming that they were from an online vendor who called people and found fraudulent activity in their accounts.
A spokesman for the Army said: “During calls, scammers ask the caller to download software on their computer called Team Viewer, which allows the caller to gain remote access to the computer.

“From there, they get the caller to log into their online bank to check for any fraudulent activity.
“Then they are asked to transfer large sums from their account to another account.
“Please warn your friends, neighbors and acquaintances about this scam, especially if they are vulnerable.”
