Before pre-ordering the iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Mini, Apple has released iOS 14.2 for everyone. The latest update is here.
Apple is not ashamed to quickly change round updates for iOS, although the latest version of the iPhone and iPod OS is only a few months old, we are already on iOS 14.2. The latest update is now available for download on any iPod, iPhone or iPod Touch that supports iOS 14.

What’s new in iOS 14.2?
This is a huge update that brings a whole bunch of new features to your Apple device. Here’s a quick fix of the new ones:
- 100 new emojis. According to the release notes, animals, food, faces, household items, musical instruments, gender emojis and more.
- Visual detection on camera uses intelligent image recognition to identify objects in a scene (iPod Air 4)
- Optimal battery charging for airplanes
- Intercom support with HomePot and HomePot Mini
- Eight wallpapers (in light and dark versions)
- Ability to connect homepage to Apple TV 4K for stereo, surround and Atmos audio
- Supported iPods can be magnified to detect nearby people using the lidar sensor
As for bug fixes, Apple has shown a lot here. They include fixes for the following issues:
- The camera viewfinder appears in black
- Reminders by default in the past
- Photo widget does not show content
- Voice notes are interrupted by incoming phone calls
- The screen turns black when viewed on Netflix
- Do not touch the keyboard on the lock screen when entering your passcode
Apple has been busy for a few months. We’ve got the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, big and small versions coming very soon.
