The Internet has made it easier for us to access content online without having to go through the apparently tedious download process that most people are not accustomed to. In most cases, when people download specific content from the Internet, many users share it with someone and after that, we regret deleting the same task or reopening it to complete other tasks. When it comes to our computers, we know that the files we download on the Internet are available in the default download folder. If you are downloading some files on your Android smartphone query where are my downloads going?
If most people these days use Google Chrome as the primary web browser on your smartphone, downloads will not be available in your smartphone’s internal storage or the default download folder on the SD card. But this does not mean that downloads are going to the place of some mysterious aliens. It will always be on your smartphone, but you will never know where it is. So, today I’m going to talk about where to find downloads made by Google Chrome and how to set the location you want, i.e. there is an internal storage or SD card in your smartphone for your download. Google Chrome uses a web browser on your Android smartphone. I think it will make your experience of using a smartphone even better and more comfortable.
So without further ado, let’s start with how to find downloads on your finished Android smartphone using Google Chrome and set the default location for all your downloads.
Find files that have already been downloaded in Google Chrome
Before you consider changing the default location of Google Chrome for downloads, you must first know where your previous downloads are, so you can first navigate where you want, delete them, or do whatever you want with those downloads.
Step 1: Open the default file manager app on your Android smartphone or you can also use any third party file manager app like Solid Explorer File Manager and open internal storage.
Step 2: Now, navigate to the directory by name ‘Download’.
Here you can see all the files that you have downloaded so far using the Google Chrome web browser on Android.
Now you can move the files from here to any place or to the desired default download folder for easy access at your convenience.
Changing the default download location for all Chrome downloads
If Google Chrome is the preferred browser on your Android device, you can configure it to store all downloads on your internal storage or on your SD card.
Step 1: Open Google Chrome on your Android smartphone, press the triple-dot icon, and then press ‘Downloads’.
Step 2: Here you have to press the gear icon in the upper right corner of the panel.
Step 3: Now, here you can configure many settings associated with Chrome downloads. Press’Download location‘.
Step 4: Select and tap the download location to suit your needs ‘Done’. Now all the downloaded files are in the place you like. If you select the SD card as your download location, you can find all the downloaded files at the following address.
SD Card/Android/data/com.android.chrome/files/Download
You can bookmark the following location in the Download Manager or anything else so that you can quickly access the following directory to access the downloaded files.
So, how can you view the downloaded files or change the download location. Do you have any questions? Feel free to comment below on this.
