Downloading digitally signed land ownership documents became easier on Friday as the State Land Record Department allowed residents to download a copy of 7/12 Extract, 8A and Property Card by generating a OneTime Password (OTP) for transactions.

Previously, system users were required to create an account by submitting credentials.

Ramdas Jagtap, in-charge of the Land Records Digitization Program, said the previous system was a hassle for landowners – especially farmers – because they had to remember the login ID and password after creating an account on the Mahabhumi portal using mobile phones, Aadhaar and PAN. .

“The Indian Informatics Center (IIC) in Pune has created a new system for our portal where farmers can download OTP, 7/12 and 8A extracts on land ownership and transfer for various purposes, such as getting loans, buying crop insurance or property or Selling, ”said Jagtap, adding that the new system will make the process easier and faster.

The user can pay a fee of Rs 15 to download a digitally signed copy via debit card, net-banking or UPI.

Jagtap said the scheme has downloaded 23 lakh 7/12 extracts and 1.40 lakh 8A extracts since its inception in 2018. The government earned Rs 3.65 lakh from downloads. At least 2.56 lakh landlord residents have created an account on the Mahabhumi portal.

As of this month, the 7/12 extract in the state is newly disassembled, easy to understand and difficult to format. These materials include the Land Record Department and the state government logo, the watermark of the name and village code, and the landlord’s final entry. There will be a total of 12 changes to the entire format.

“The change in these important documents was made to prevent fraudulent land transactions for the first time in 50 years. The latest form makes the document simpler and easier to understand,” Jagtap said.
