5 good reasons to switch to Vivaldi

5 good reasons to switch to Vivaldi

Vivaldi, a lot of people have talked about this, but still few dare to try it. The Norwegian web browser is none other than John Stephenson von Detsner, the former creator and CEO of the Opera web browser, and has many assets to represent the scales in support of it.

Highly customizable, Vivaldi adapts to everyone’s needs by providing three or more complete user experiences from start to finish. If you go more complete, Vivaldi can change many of the apps you usually use. The browser offers many features, each one smarter than the next, and you get used to it very quickly, so it’s hard to go back.

If you still have doubts, we have listed five good reasons to opt out of your old web browser in favor of Vivaldi.

1. This prevents cookie endorsement ads and banners

If advertising is the basis of a free web, the multiplication of ad blocks on webpages (here too) has led to a certain decline in navigation, especially on longer pages.
With Vivaldi, you do not need to install the Antibub extension on the browser, or set up a pie-hole to remove ads with a raspberry pie on your home network because the browser embeds an ad blocker of its own. You will be asked from the very beginning whether you want to implement it or not.

To disable everything, you no longer have to click “Accept” or “Drop” to remove cookie endorsement banners.
Vivaldi includes a tool that has the ability to block the display of these cookie consent banners, which can be useful to allow websites to pay for themselves, but it is a real nuisance for the web user, as they can be clicked 15 times a day and disappear several times.
To do this, Vivaldi relies on two cookie banner blocking lists: Easylist cookie list and I do not care about cookies.
These lists accept all cookies when necessary for the proper functioning of the site. Therefore, it is still necessary to configure Vivaldi’s options to block trackers and ads for quiet browsing.

2. It will replace all your applications

Vivaldi is a real Swiss military knife (or rather Norwegian) and can replace many of the applications you use on a daily basis. In addition to allowing you to browse the web, Vivaldi has an email client (in beta), an RSS feed reader (in the email client, in beta), a calendar (in beta), a website, a translation module with servers hosted in Iceland, or if you have a Vivaldi account Synchronous note taking module.

Everything is at hand because the author has integrated everything into a group column with specific icons for each function located on the left side of the browser.

3. You can still use your favorite extensions

While Vivaldi shows a point in protecting the privacy of its users, the browser is based on the open source version of Google Chrome, Chromium. So it embodies many features that can be found in Google Browser, but it is especially compatible with all extensions of Chrome.

So you can go to the Chrome Web Store to download and install extensions that you normally use on Chrome. Compatibility with Chrome extensions is native, so you do not need to change any settings in the browser options.

4. Maximum functionality and maximum customization

One of Vivaldi’s main strengths is its ability to adapt to personal use and needs. Functional and aesthetic terms make web browser customization its best.

From the very beginning, the browser allows you to customize the type of application you use to show or hide certain features by default – essential, classic or complete. The user can then change the look of the window as he wishes, use one of the many themes provided, adjust the colors, concentration and opacity of some interface elements, define a specific theme for windows in personal browsing and even schedule theme changes based on the time of day.

The toolbar is located on the left side of the browser and provides access to the mail client, RSS feed reader or even note taking module, and can be customized, for example, displayed on the left or right side of the browser.

Everything can be customized in Vivaldi, even in regular browser keyboard shortcuts.

5. Optimal tab management

If you are looking for a competent browser when organizing lots of open tabs, you will not find more performance than Vivaldi. Tabs can be displayed upstairs (by default), on the left, on the right, or at the bottom of the navigation window, arranged in one or two lines, and even scrollable.

You can also set the start location of the new tab (after the parent tab, after the active tab, at the end of the tab bar, etc.), enable the tab preview on mouseover or not, define the width and customize the progress bar for the tab or page load. Tabs can be stacked by domain and dissatisfied

Whether it’s the interface or the built-in features of the browser, Vivaldi has no limits when it comes to customization.
