“Can you send me something?” Cooper asked Farrar, then went home and pulled out a widely used skateboard.
On the left side of the board, on the exposed wood, Cooper had written his name. On the other side, he had written “Tony Hawk”.
“Take this to Tony Hawk from me. Tell him it’s from Cooper,” he said. Farrar, as Cooper’s mother winked and nodded.
But Farrar knew he couldn’t deliver the skateboard without an address.
“The least I can do is spread it around the world,” he said in his TikTok video.
The universe delivered.
Farrar told CNN that he posted the video in the afternoon, but did not check TikTok again until the evening, when suddenly his phone started to explode.
A well-placed tag in the video caption and hundreds of thousands of likes and additional tags from TikTok users helped Cooper’s gift reach the right recipient.
“I just want to thank you very much for the skateboard. It’s already on the way to my house, and as a thank you gift, I’m going to send you my skateboard, this one here that I’m riding”, Hawk said, adding that he hoped to meet Cooper someday.
Farrar coordinated with Hawk to personally ship Cooper’s old skateboard. The package is expected to arrive at Hawk’s on May 27, he told CNN.
Farrar said he was “totally shocked” when Hawk reached out.
“I had low expectations. I had hope, but I just thought that celebrities would swim with their money and look at themselves in the mirror all day. I don’t know what they are doing, but not Tony Hawk, he’s a special guy. “
“I just want to say thank you for the skateboard and you are such a great skater,” said Cooper.
“I’m a big fan and I really, really, really love you, and there’s a board to come, so be ready,” added Tucker.
Hawk later commented on the video, “Thank you boys! I will also send something to Tucker. And thank you Mikail for connecting us all.”
Hawk’s package with three brand new skateboards arrived at the boys on Thursday morning.
Cooper and Tucker have been skating together for a while and training daily in their backyard, said their father, Robby Morgan.
“They would be there all day if they could,” said Morgan.
The boys learned from their father, who started skating with his younger brother when he was the same age as Tucker.
“We both idolized Tony Hawk. Lots of kids got into skateboarding because of him. So it’s one of my childhood dreams,” Morgan told CNN.
“Seeing the expression of joy on their faces when they saw the video, then when they received the package this morning, it was surreal.”
Farrar told CNN he would be back in the Morgans neighborhood later Thursday, and the kids could show him and his TikTok subscribers their new boards.
We will stay tuned for this.
