A few days ago, The Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy creator Edmund McMillen teased a short video of a secret project he’s currently working on, with the promise that all would be revealed soon. This day has come now, behold The End Is Nigh.
Developed by McMillen and Tyler Glaiel, The End Is Nigh is an old-school style platformer set to release on Nintendo Switch later this year. In this game we follow Ash, “one of the few things that have survived the end of the world“, into 600+ levels filled with pain and stress to achieve one true and pure quest: make a friend out of pieces of people found on the journey. Sweet. On the way, expect to die… a lot!
The game will also feature loads of collectibles, like hundreds of little tumours (god knows what’s that for), fully playable mini game cartridges (each with their own tiny achievements), hidden extras and alternate endings.
