Nintendo has big plans to expand its video games franchises to new worlds, and last year’s announcement of a tie-up with Universal resulted in the future opening of a Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios amusement parks in Osaka (Japan), Orlando and Hollywood (North America).
Featuring immersive attractions based on many Nintendo titles – such as a Mario Kart ride using world’s most advanced technology (fuck yeah!!) – the construction of the first Super Nintendo World expansion at Osaka just launched yesterday, with a planned opening for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. And to celebrate this unique achievement for both video games and parks entertainment industries, a “Groundbreaking Ceremony” was held on-site with Universal Creative’s Mark Woodbury and Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto himself.
In addition to this press event that took place in real life, Nintendo couldn’t forget all the fans online and gave exclusivity for Famitsu magazine to release a celebration trailer. A new occasion to get a glimpse at what’s to come in 2020: an entrance in the shape of Mario’s green pipe, Princess Peach’s Castle and Bowser’s as well, a multi-level platform topped with the Goal Pole, a giant mushroom Toad house (most probably a shop), etc. Have a look in the video below!
