Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon announced for 3DS

Oh boy! Is it the new Pokemon yet? Yep, but it’s not exactly what you’ve been expecting. During yesterday’s Pokemon Direct, The Pokemon Company and Game Freak announced a new double-title in the series for 3DS: Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. And just as you might have guessed, it’s an “extension” of the universe already developed in Pokemon Sun & Moon.

Taking place in the tropical islands of the Alola region, the Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon episodes will unfold an alternate storyline than the one seen in the original games, with whole new features and added Pokémon to catch. Two of which were shown, resembling to alternate forms of Legendary Pokémon Solgaleo and Lunala.

We expect to hear more about Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon during the Nintendo Spotlight at E3 next week, hopefully with an announcement of some kind of gesture towards Pokemon Sun & Moon owners. In the meantime, first bits of gameplay were shown during this Pokemon Direct (marker 2:58 in the video below).

Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon are coming this Nov. 17th on 3DS.
