MadWorld, Bayonetta 1&2, The Wonderful 101, Star Fox Guard/Zero… Platinum Games has given lots of great titles to the Nintendo fans over the last years. And they’re about to give one more according to what’s been said during the BitSummit gaming event.
Platinum Games Head Producer Atsushi Inaba recently spoke with Famitsu, and while conversation drifted to how much he enjoyed playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on his Switch, the journalist saw an opportunity there to talk future Platinum Games’ projects on the console:
How’s the compatibility with Platinum Games?
“I think it’s good. We’ve also already declared we’re going to participate. During the announcement event of Nintendo Switch, there’s the Platinum Games logo showing up secretly.’
Is something happening?
“We’re creating it, you know. I think it’s going to be interesting.”
Of course, we all think of Bayonetta 3. But it’s not quite sure that this is the title Inaba is referring to here. In fact, in his interview with SourceGaming at BitSummit, the Producer said “I would like to make Bayonetta 3. We’re talking within the company even now about what to do, but because we’re constantly talking about it, that actually makes it really hard to say“. Which could only mean that the game is not on the current development roadmap. But there’s plenty more IPs that Platinum Games can bring to Switch. All we can hope for is a surprise at E3.
