Castlevania becomes an animated series on Netflix, here’s the first trailer

Born from the minds of Konami teams in 1986, the Castlevania series first appeared on NES and defined a new video games genre. The dark fantasy-themed franchise has become one of the most renowned when it comes to dealing with Draculean forces. And after more than 30 years haunting our consoles, Castlevania is coming to Netflix.

Starting this July 7th, the Castlevania animated series will debut on the video streaming service, with a story following “the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself”.

Producer Adi Shankar shared a few details on this new show, saying that it will be based on Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, and viewers will find it “very much Castlevania done in the vein of Game of Thrones”.
