Nintendo reveals New 2DS XL: release date, price, specs and comparison with 3DS

Following Nintendo’s corporate event to present financial results for the 2016 fiscal year to shareholders and press, the company announced a little surprise, a new addition to the 3DS handheld family: the New Nintendo 2DS XL.

According to Nintendo, the New 2DS XL “offers pricing and features that fit between the Nintendo 2DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL systems”. To put it in a simple way, this upcoming New 2DS XL gets the large screen and power of the New 3DS XL but without the stereoscopic 3D. See below all the infos on this new system.

It is also interesting to note that, on the same day, a selection of games are joining the Nintendo Selects. These include Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Luigi’s Mansion 2, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros., and Paper Mario: Sticker Star. A nice opportunity to grab great games at a lower price to play on your new system!
