Now that we finally have the release date of Splatoon 2, thanks to last week’s Nintendo Direct, the Squid Research Lab is back to a normal update rate on their science experiments. And today, they’ve shared some new content focusing on the amiibo functionalities, and especially the camera feature.
Several screenshots were shared through the Japanese Splatoon Twitter account, and they give a better look at the possibilities given by the three amiibo figures announced last week (Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, Inkling Squid). Unlike the previously released Splatoon amiibo, these new ones unlock new fresh outfits and can be used to register favourite custom gear sets. They can also appear directly in-game, as characters to take selfies with.
Splatoon 2 will be launching on July 21st exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
