Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: how long will last the battery in portable mode?

Better take an external battery if you plan long travels

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is coming out worldwide for Nintendo Switch in exactly ten days now, and if we’ve already shown you an extensive view of all the new features of this revamped version (including the new Ultra Turbo Boost), there’s still one question missing: How long are we gonna be able to play in Switch portable mode before the battery dies out?

Well, the guys at GameRant already had their hands on a copy of the game, and they’ve run some tests. So, by putting the game in the same conditions as Zelda: Breath of the Wild (full charge to start, screen brightness at 30%), the Nintendo Switch battery lasted exactly 3 hours, 9 minutes and 20 seconds of playtime. Which is about the same as Zelda. So there, you know how much time you’ve got when you’ll be travelling with friends before popping the external battery.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe releases exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on April 28th.
