Nintendo hosting an ARMS tournament during NicoNico Chokaigi 2017

New fighters, arenas, game modes or features might be revealed!

Ahead of ARMS‘ release on June 16th, Nintendo has planned several events to promote the game and give players the opportunity to throw some punches. They’ve just announced a few minutes ago a new tournament in Japan. So if you’re one of the lucky few to live there or happen to go there in late April, here’s your chance to try ARMS for free and even get some nice goodies. This ARMS Tournament will take place during the NicoNico Chokaigi 2017 (April 29th & 30th).

Each day, two sets of 64 contestants will fight in ARMS, under the dome of the Makuhari Messe Convention Center. The prizes aren’t that exclusive (stickers for all players, bandana for the top 16, t-shirt for the winners), so it’ll be more a competition to enjoy the game.

And of course, since not many of us have the possibility to be on site, NicoNico will host two live streams of the tournament: Day One (12pm – 2:30pm GMT+9), Day Two (11:30am – 2:00pm GMT+9). We don’t have the details yet on what game mode/fighters/arenas of ARMS the contestant will fight. Each day, an exhibition match with professional gamers (Luminosity Gaming, Team Grapht, Echo Fox, Cyclops Osaka) will also be planned. Better keep an eye on those streams, there might be some exclusive reveals during the tournament!
