Finally! Now that we know when the new IP ARMS will release on Nintendo Switch, it’s the turn of the other main attraction of today’s Nintendo Direct: Splatoon 2. Put your Squid on and prepare your Splat Rollers, the Squid Research Lab just sent a science report to confirm that Splatoon 2 will be launching on July 21st exclusively for the Switch!
This sequel will hit the shelves along with three new amiibo figures: Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, and Inkling Squid. Their purpose won’t be entirely the same as the previously released Splatoon amiibo. First, they’ll unlock new fresh outfits. But this time, you’ll also be able to register in them your favourite custom gear sets, and use them as characters to take selfies with once ingame.

Finally Nintendo, revealed a new PvE Mode, called Salmon Run. This survival-like new mode will throw you and three of your friends in arenas surrounded by polluted waters and debris. Your task will be to “clean up” waves of Salmonid enemies coming at you, while collecting Power Eggs and bringing them to your base. The more eggs you’ll bring, the more cool items, weapons and gears you’ll unlock.
Salmon Run, a new four-player co-op mode, is coming to Splatoon 2! By teaming up with friends, players can take on a part-time job battling the new Salmonid species, which the Squid Research Lab reports might even be more lethal than the Octarians! When players fall in co-op mode, teammates can revive them by inking them on the battlefield.
