Dragon Quest XI: new gameplay screenshots on 3DS
Square-Enix updated the official website, with new images
A few days ago, the Jump magazine revealed first infos on Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time‘s battle system and two characters. We thought that it would be all the news we would get until the next official presentation by Square-Enix, but nope. Today, the publisher updated the official website of DQXI and unveiled new screenshots of the Nintendo 3DS version.
Thanks to these images, we have a better look at the differences between the 2D and 3D Mode in battle, an exclusive for the Nintendo 3DS version. Another difference between 2D/3D ingame is when you roam around the map. In 2D, monsters won’t show and will attack you without any notice. In 3D, you’ll see them wandering, noticing you and attacking. You’ll encounter disguised ennemies (ex. as mushrooms in the photos shown) so that’ll be your chance for a preemptive strike.
Square-Enix also shows two new monsters: Mandra (“A monster that looks like a plant growing from the ground that one day appeared. It is said that those who hear its war cry stop moving“) and Ocobolt (“A monster that looks like a small ogre. It is always surging with anger and quarrelsome“).
Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time is coming out on Nintendo 3DS. Release date will be known on April 11th during a special presentation.
