What a great day to be a Seiken Densetsu fan!! Following the teasing from Square-Enix yesterday, the official Seiken PR Twitter account just announced the big news: Seiken Densetsu Collection is coming to Nintendo Switch!
The “Seiken Densetsu Collection” will include the three first video games from the Mana series:
- Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden aka “Final Fantasy Adventure” – GameBoy (1991)
- Seiken Densetsu 2 aka “Secret of Mana” – Super Famicom (1993)
- Seiken Densetsu 3 – Super Famicom (1995)
Publisher Square-Enix will release the collection in both physical and digital copies, out June 1st for 4,800 Yen. For now, it’s been confirmed for Japan only so we’ll have to wait a little to see if there’s a release slated for the west. We really hope so because that would mark the day Seiken Densetsu 3 gets an official translation (it was never released outside Japan due to technical bugs and the game being too large for cartridges). If not, import will be our only option to enjoy this collection on our Nintendo Switch.
We also have the info that Seiken Densetsu 2 and Seiken Densetsu 3 will support multiplayer (just like we’ve seen in the teasing from the Seiken team), up to three players. For the first time, a quick-save option is available, allowing to save anywhere we want while playing. Two new modes have been announced: Music Mode (listen to the OST of each game) and Screen Change Mode (exclusive to Final Fantasy Adventure, choose different screen sizes).
