Where some just give their impression on where the Nintendo Switch might be in terms of power compared to the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, others prefer to just go ahead and take a look inside to know what’s going on there. Guys at Tech Insights decided to take their system and just tear down their Nintendo Switch. They’ve come up with a clear answer on what’s powering the system: a Nividia Tegra X1 chip. No surprise here, this is what Nvidia announced a few weeks before release of the console. There were rumors that Nvidia manufactured a custom chip for the system but it looks like its a stock X1.
After subsequent processing of the GPU from the Nintendo Switch, we have determined that the processor is the Nvidia Tegra T210. The T210 CPU features 4 Cortex A57 and 4 Cortex A53 processor cores and the GPU is a GM20B Maxell core.
