Shovel Knight Treasure Trove: new character and amiibo bonus

Yacht Club Games reveals a new character and details the amiibo functionality

The studio Yacht Club Games unveiled new details about their upcoming games Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove and the Specter of Torment expansion on Nintendo Switch. As a reminder, Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove contains the original game plus all of its expansions and post-release content. As for Specter of Torment, this expansion will allow you to play through Specter Knight’s own story. It will be a free update on ALL the versions of Shovel Knight release so far. Here’s the trailer of Specter of Torment. So, the news!

First, the amiibo. Both Treasure Trove and Specter of Torment will be compatible with the Shovel Knight amiibo. Once scanned, Custom Knight will acquire a costume named Fish Hero, that has a similar appearance to that of ????. The amiibo will also give access to Challenges. Yacht Club Games also confirmed that the amiibo will store your save, so you can transfer your character, levels and achievements to the Nintendo Switch.

Then, Yacht Club Games gave us a little surprise: a new character! Named Mme Meeber, the “affable conjurer” can be found in the Village, Potionarium, and the Tower of Fate. Her use? She will summon the Fairy of Shovelry, a little you. That’s right, a tiny Shovel Knight (Plague Knight and Specter Knight will get it too) but with wings. And this little fella will assist you in action. Let’s just hope we won’t have the “Hey Listen!”.

Here’s the little scamp:
